Presentation Announcement:
What to do when “There is a problem”?

The New York Enterprise Windows Users Group has invited me to speak on March 5. My presentation will be on a topic which is delicate for most organizations: What should the response be when something happens involving the network or computers attached to it?

The response involves balancing concerns from different perspectives: technical, legal, and organizational. The goal is to deal appropriately with the requirements from each perspective, without fatally compromising each, and the overall health of the organization. Incident investigations, like any other operation, are only successes if the patient lives and thrives.

I have also arranged with John Wiley & Sons for attendees to receive 10% discount coupons for the new Computer Security Handbook, 5th Edition which will be shipping momentarily.
