OpenVMS Secure Applications Experience
Since the firm's founding in 1978, Mr. Gezelter's work has often included
architecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining secure applications
and environments in a range of environments. Some of his have included:
-
architecting, designing, and implementing numerous applications programs
which leverage the inherant security facilities and capabilities of
OpenVMS to maximize
the security, correctness, and auditability of client applications while
simultaneously reducing the size and complexity of the coding effort.
-
supervising the creation of procedures for the creation and maintenance of
user accounts in accord with established policies for secure computing,
without imposing miniumal inconvenience on users.
-
implementing numerous DCL procedures to address a wide
range of client application and system management
requirements. Have spoken extensively on the use of
sophisticated DCL techniques to implement the security of applications
environments operating on OpenVMS.
-
implementing file and applications protections based upon Rights Identifiers
and Access Control Lists which tightly controlled application and data
access to trained and authorized personnel.
-
speaking on systems management and internals of OpenVMS
and related products at DECUS Symposia in the United
States, Canada, Switzerland, France, and Turkey.
Presentations have included both one hour sessions and full
day seminars.
-
authoring several articles on OpenVMS systems
management, internals, and related areas. Articles have
been published by Digital Systems Journal,
Digital News, and Hardcopy.
